The Brown–Driver–Briggs Hebrew Definitions (BDB) is a lexicon of Hebrew words keyed off of Strong's Numbers and has been considered the most comprehensive Hebrew lexicon available to English-speaking students since the early twentieth century.
The BDB is based on the Hebrew-German lexicon of Wilhelm Gesenius, translated by Edward Robinson. The chief editor was Francis Brown, with the co-operation of Samuel Rolles Driver and Charles Augustus Briggs, hence the name Brown-Driver-Briggs.
This electronic edition includes:
• Independent Dictionary with full text Search as well as Strong's Number lookup
• Linked Cross-References
• BDB definitions added to Old Testament Strong's definitions in installed Strong's-Based Bibles (Example: KJV with Strong's Concordance, NASB with Exhaustive Concordance, HCSB with Strong's Concordance and Nave's Topical Bible).
For New Testament study see Thayer's Greek Definitions.
