This is a two volume defence of Judaism by Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus (AD 37 - c. 100), translated from the original language by William Whiston. The Apion referred to in the title was a Greek writer that had apparently made some anti-Judean allegations. Josephus authored several books between c. AD 75 and c. 99. His books provide background to first century Judaism and are a useful context for Bible study.
