This is an account of the Jewish War by Jewish historian, Flavius Josephus (AD 37 - c. 100), translated from the original language by William Whiston. The account begins with the time of the Maccabees and ends with the fall of Jerusalem. Josephus authored several books between c. AD 75 and c. 99. His books provide background to first century Judaism and are a useful context for Bible study.
