The Louis Segond version of the Bible has been an authoritative translation for over a century in the French Protestant world. In 2007 the Geneva Bible Society published the Segond 21 - the original, in today's words. This new version of the Segond Bible is the result of 12 years of work by theologians, linguists and historians. Their objective was to keep the text both accessible to readers of the 21st century and faithful to the original text.
